She was supposed to be level-headed and reasonable in all the books, but she lost all credibility in this one. She loathed the man and had no obligation to him except an agreement her father made, which she did not have to uphold (since she was legally and adult). As Ellert showed more and more of his truly awful character, Amanda's stubbornness in remaining with him made no sense. I found Amanda's fixation with saving face for her family really hard to believe. Who can say? You may even grow to love him.I enjoyed the first couple books in this series, but this one was too far-fetched for me.
